Branded Steer Specialty Foods was originally founded in 1997 under the name Har-Hoff Specialty Foods, by Executive Chef Patrick Harris and St. Louis’ Middendorf Meats Lead Salesman, Frank Steinhoff III. The products included Old Plantation BBQ Sauce and Devil’s Breath Bloody Mary Mix. Quickly, the recipes became a staple in every St. Louis, Missouri kitchen. Shortly after the success of Har-Hoff, Frank passed away, which led to the end of Har-Hoff in 2000. Just prior to the passing of Frank, the original Old Plantation BBQ sauce was changing the name to Branded Steer BBQ sauce. Twenty-two years later, Franks son, Brett Steinhoff, connected with Patrick and with a strong passion for the business, the original company was reborn, utilizing a new name for the business; Branded Steer Specialty Foods.
